Neill has extensive experience as a contracts & procurement professional in the rail and construction sectors but also previously within the automotive and electronics sectors. Neill has spent over nineteen years in the rail/construction sector in a variety of roles covering rail infrastructure design and construction, professional services, equipment supply, fixed and mobile telecommunications networks, procurement of rolling stock and rolling stock refurbishment. For the last two years Neill has specialised in the field of collaborative working and Alliancing for Network Rail Infrastructure Projects as their Head of Contracting Strategy and for the last year as their Head of Collaborative Working. Neill has recently embarked upon a career in the field of collaborative working. Neill is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply and holds degrees in Economics and Business Administration.
In his nineteen years in the rail industry Neill has occupied a variety of contracts and procurement roles within Network Rail and Railtrack as well as spending over four years as the Head of Procurement for the Rail Division of The Go-Ahead Group PLC.Prior to working in the railway industry Neill worked for two multi-national companies in the automotive electronics industry. Neill was until recently the Head of Collaborative Working in the Infrastructure Projects division of Network Rail, one of the UK’s largest construction clients. In this role Neill was responsible for developing and implementing a strategy and programme for collaborative working to support the company’s substantial capital expenditure programme. As part of this role Neill successfully led the BS11000 implementation programme for Infrastructure Projects.
