A potential pilot for the accreditation of Certification Bodies related to ISO 44001 by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)

UKAS is awaiting the results of a call for expressions of interest to see if there is demand from certification bodies for the accreditation of conformity assessment to ISO 44001. This development follows ICW's efforts to provide major client organisations and industry at large the opportunity to recognise a validated common approach and the integrity of the certification process, by launching its own validation scheme last year. As part of the Institute's preparation for a formal accreditation scheme, work has begun on drafting competency requirements for auditing, and the certification of collaborative business relationship management systems [Technical Specification], for use in conjunction with ISO/IES 17021-1:2015(E), Conformity Assessment - requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems.
