The Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) and Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5th August 2026, at the CICES offices in Sale, Manchester. The signing was formalised by ICW's CEO Frank Lee, FICW, and CICES CEO Simon Hamlyn.

The agreement establishes the basis for closer collaboration between our organisations, helping us identify opportunities to support one another on matters of shared interest and promote the value of collaborative working across civil engineering and surveying.

As infrastructure and construction projects become ever more interconnected, success depends on the quality of relationships across clients, suppliers, consultants and professional bodies. No organisation can deliver major outcomes alone.

Through this MoU, ICW and CICES will work together to promote professional development, knowledge sharing, networking, education and collaborative good practice, helping to strengthen both professions and the relationships that enable successful project outcomes.
