The Advanced Collaborative Leader |
The ICW Leadership Development Programme is designed to help collaborative leaders understand how their behaviours shape trust, influence performance, and drive the success of collaborative relationships.Participants will gain powerful insight into how they are experienced by others, the things that may be limiting their effectiveness, and how to develop the self-awareness and behavioural capability needed to confidently lead collaborations across complex organisational and stakeholder boundaries. THE CHALLENGECollaborative programmes fail because of people, not processes. Contracts and governance frameworks can be designed with precision - yet the human factors that determine whether collaboration actually works remain largely unaddressed. Trust deficits accumulate. Leadership behaviours contradict stated intent. Good intentions prove insufficient. The gap between what leaders believe about their collaborative capability and how their behaviour is actually experienced by others is where collaborative programmes are won or lost. This programme closes that gap. THE PROGRAMMEA two-stage intervention delivered six weeks apart - combining individual psychological diagnostics with comprehensive multi-rater behavioural feedback, grounded in four decades of Organisational Development expertise and direct experience of programme-level collaborative working in complex defence and government environments. |
DAY ONE | Examining the beliefs, attitudes, and mindset that shape how leaders show up in collaborative relationships. Participants explore their personal values and the gap between what they hold important and what their work is actually delivering - a direct and measurable interference to performance. Time, focus, and the hidden cost of non-value activity are examined as foundations of collaborative discipline. |
SIX WEEKS | Between the two days, a comprehensive 360-degree feedback assessment is completed - gathering input from line supervisor, peers, team members, and stakeholders. Reports are issued before Day Two, giving participants time for private reflection before facilitated group work begins. |
DAY TWO | Bringing the psychological baseline of Day One into direct conversation with the 360-degree behavioural data. Participants examine how cognitive patterns and leadership style shape the way their behaviour is experienced by others - and leave with a clear, grounded personal development plan for immediate application. |
WHAT PARTICIPANTS LEAVE WITHDeep self-knowledge and clear understanding of what is interfering with their performance and collaborative effectiveness. 360-degree insight into how their behaviour is experienced by others. A personal development plan grounded in real data. Practical models, tools, and approaches they can apply immediately in their workplace and use directly with their own teams. And two independently assessed CPD certificates - earned, not awarded for attendance. |
