Introduction to Collaboration

For New Adopters

Self-Learning and Online on demand introduction to structured collaboration

Module 1 – Why Collaborate
Module 2 – How to Collaborate

This learning is strongly focused on gaining high-level insight and guidance for any individual that may be assigned to, or impacted by, collaborative programmes. It provides awareness and insight into the key collaborative principles encompassed within the ISO 44000 guidance standard, and seeks to address the fundamental objectives and advantages of a structured approach to collaborative working. It will provide the awareness and knowledge required to build and get the best from collaborative business relationships.

How will you benefit?

These two modules focus on the advantages of collaboration as a strategic solution. They provide concise learning that will help people and teams develop an understanding of why a structured approach is important, and the principles that can be adopted to support the implementation and management of a collaborative approach.

The learning will benefit you by explaining and providing evidence of:

  • The case for structured collaboration and how it will help you get the best from business relationships;
  • Why how people think, act, and behave when working collaboratively is important;
  • How you can provide a structure using internationally recognised principles;
  • How these principles are applied and the advantages gained.

What will I learn?

After completing this course, you will:

  • Gain a deeper appreciation and awareness of collaboration.
  • Discover that 'how you do it is as important as why you do it'.
  • Understand how collaboration offers a different, more productive way of working with like-minded organisations.
  • Appreciate the benefits for you and your organisation, as well as being a better way of motivating people.
  • Be able to explain and understand the key elements of collaboration and fully appreciate why using a structure will make a difference.
