ICW Validated Certification Bodies

The aim of this scheme is to establish a credible and consistent approach to company assessments and certifications to BS 11000 and ISO 44001. It has been recognised that since the certification process has not been adopted by UKAS, there are a number of organisations offering certification for the ISO 44001 standard. Regrettably it would appear that some organisations offering BS 11000 and ISO 44001 conformity assessment may not be undertaking these assessment activities with the rigor that would support the principles of the standard nor the aims of the Institute, since there is no common perspective

The principles of this scheme as defined by ICW:

  • To provide companies with the confidence that certification is rigorous and consistent
  • To validate certification bodies’ certification processes and assessor training
  • To ensure certification bodies will adhere to the criteria for certification outlined below
  • To validate certification bodies internal schemes upon application
  • To undertake annual validation assessments of certification bodies internal schemes by ICW
  • To promote the rigorous assessment by certification bodies of collaborative business relationship management systems compliant to BS 11000 and ISO 44001, by allowing validated organisations the opportunity to incorporate the ICW logo on certificates
