Provides a full understanding of the application of collaborative principles

An in-depth learning approach to gain a comprehensive understanding of internationally recognised collaborative principles and their application, ensuring an effective basis for collaboration. As well as being a further step in building an individual’s knowledge, it is also suitable for people that work in collaborations and teams, but it is not their role to take a lead in or coordinate the direct management of relationships. It provides the awareness and knowledge required to establish, build and gain the best from collaborative business relationships.

  • Gain an appreciation of the concepts of collaborative business relationships and how a structured framework and ISO 44000 principles can be applied.

  • Gain an understanding of the opportunities, risk and benefits of collaborative working.

After completing this course, you will understand the fundamentals of Collaborative Business Relationships, including:

  • How adopting a structured approach and ISO principles, is different to traditional relationship management and generic collaborative working.
  • The importance of getting it right from the start – appreciating the essential corporate strategic drivers of why, where and how to collaborate for your organisation.
  • Key aspects of collaborative leadership, behaviours, trust and mutual benefit for success.
  • Features of risk management relating to organisational and when working with partners.
  • Appreciate what is key in a Joint Relationship Management Plan (JRMP).
  • Creating Value.
  • Measuring and driving collaborative performance – What do we need to measure.

Who should attend?

People that need to understand the fundamentals of structured collaboration. Either because they want to build their knowledge and capability as part of their development, or if in their role they are part of a collaborative team.

What's included?

  • Content provides an explanation, understanding and knowledge necessary to fully understand how the principles of collaboration are applied for best effect. The course is interactive, enabling candidates to engage in implementation discussions underpinned by real world examples and case studies.
  • Duration 1 day online.
  • On completion, you can apply to become an Associate member (AICW) of the ICW.

    The aim of this course is to help organisations to establish their own in-house capabilities to develop and maintain effective collaborative working. After this course delegates will have a deep understanding of collaborative business relationship management, including the use of tools and techniques for identifying and managing risks and benefits. Course delegates shall be given the opportunity and encouraged to apply the learning into their own business scenarios and work with others to build on experiences. Successful candidates will additionally qualify for automatic membership of ICW (MICW).
